Green Careers

SEDA Green Careers Fair, Glasgow University Union, Glasgow University · September 2025

You’ve likely heard of “green jobs” and the “green transition”, but what do these terms really mean?

In partnership with Glasgow University, SEDA hosted the Green Careers Fair where students explored a range of careers that support people and planet. There were not only ecologists, but also environmental lawyers, community renewable energy practitioners, hemp insulation manufacturers, green health prescribers and countless other roles. As well as over 40 ecological exhibitors there were workshops introducing students to a variety of ecological themes, and four “Careers in Conversation” panel discussions.

Exhibitors

Over 40 green exhibitors from a wide range of sectors practicing genuinely ecological work – no green washing.

Exhibitors were placed in sector clusters identifiable by four of the 17 UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).

Lantra Scotland representatives and SEDA guides helped direct students to the most appropriate jobs.
